Jeweled was created in an outpatient physical rehabilitation setting for an individual who had a stroke. This occupation-based kit can be used with individuals who find meaning in ADL activities including putting on jewelry, dressing, and/or value time getting ready to engage in social participation. This kit has been created for individuals who are exhibiting motor skill deficits including: decreased fine motor coordination, decreased manipulation, decreased endurance, and decreased pinch strength. Also the kit includes components for poor sensation.

Who Am I? was created in a hospice house (non-traditional setting) for an individual who had end stage renal failure and was struggling with the dying process.Who Am I was created as an occupation-based kit for all terminally ill individuals and their families. The kit is intended to enhance the quality of life of individuals in their remaining stages of life. By focusing on what is meaningful and motivating to the client, the staff is able to interact more appropriately with the client and get the family involved. Who Am I builds the foundation for social interaction between the client and staff member, which in turn builds rapport. Encouraging conversation and guiding the right questions develops a foundational understanding of what is meaningful to the client. Once this knowledge is gathered engagement with the client through meaningful social participation and leisure activity is enhanced.

Through academic coursework I have been trained in the theory and application of the following:
*During my fieldwork experience I have had experience with therapeutic ultrasound, fluidotherapy, paraffin, and Iontophoresis* |
The MSOT program at Saginaw Valley State University provides a splinting seminar where we learn the basics for constructing both static and dynamic splints. I constructed three splints during our two splinting seminars at Saginaw Valley State University. Below you will see each splint that I constructed. Also pictured is a splinting lab that I had at my level I fieldwork placement with my fieldwork educator. She spent extra time educating me on other splint types, materials, and devices.
